To begin my anecdote about our experience here, let me extend an apology to my boyfriend for my gruff attitude at the start of our journey. Even though I was so grumpy when Michael woke me up and urged I get ready, I was reluctant and truthfully a bit resentful he wouldn't let me sleep in. With some coaxing and a few words of encouragement, he eventually convinced me to venture out on this Hallmark holiday. Sluggish to start, I miraculously managed to shower and get dressed with just enough time for us to make our reservation if we booked it. We didn't account for SoCal traffic however, and we were delayed 30 minutes anyways 😑 luckily we notified them of the change in our ETA and saved our spot
Review Time: So we finally make it to our destination, and to our surprise we realize our reservation wasn't necessary. There is ample seating here and several areas to accommodate big and small parties alike indoors and out. We chose to sit inside by the kitchen which had clear panes that allowed us to look inside as the chefs prepared the food. Our server, Daniela (super nice btw), explained the restaurant's mission and helped us deduce from the menu's options for a meal that would satisfy our eager appetite.
We ordered the #medicineman and #pomegranatechialimeade for our drinks. Refreshing af! Then ate the #wildcaughtalbacoretataki and #kaleguacamole appetizers. The flavors of those simply prepared dishes were so prominent. Every ingredient in the tataki shined through without overpowering another, it was perfectly balanced. As for the guac, I've never been a fan of kale, but let me tell you I could eat that dish every day!! Who knew grapefruit would be so perfect in guac?! The consistency was sublime especially with the crunch of those pita chips Finally the main courses, we split the #housemadechickensausagepizza and #turkeyburger . All I can say is wow!
