🥃The beginning of a magical night of whiskey, good eats, old and new friends. Anytime @bykaraelise hosts, my RSVP is 'yes'. She truly puts her heart into everything she does. One of my favorite conversations with everyone at the table was about social media, how far it has come (as well as how far we've come as a person using it). We all reflected on how we portray ourselves on our various channels in contrast with the person we really are, which got me thinking about a prompt @alexmichaelmay posted a few days ago.
Her friend @summerbellessa posted the following:
"I want to start a chain of people, giving themselves compliments. It's not arrogant to love yourself, and acknowledge your talents. Especially as women, it's hard to say something nice without including a ton of negative stuff too. And when we hear another woman do it, our natural reaction might be to judge them or tear them down. As you let yourself be awesome, it can allow others to look in the mirror and focus on the good. So... here are the rules. I want 5 great things about you without any negative precursors. If you're reading this, I want to hear from you. And tag five friends that you want to have do it, use #awesomeisntarrogant , so we can read them!"
1. I am kind.
2. I am adventurous. I'll try just about anything once.
3. I am passionate & love hard.
4. I am determined.
5. I am authentic, whether it be on here or in person. I pride myself on always being the same person.
