On an impromptu evening outing this week we found these amazing plant fossils. They are from the Mississippian (roughly 350-320 million years old) period when the area was covered by a warm shallow sea.
Can you see the stems and leaves? There's so much texture preserved in these specimens!#utahoutdoors #rockhound

While gathering up laundry in my son's room, I found this smiling face. It was just the little bright spot that I needed after a long day. .

This week I've been experimenting with different colors and mediums to figure out how to create the perfect texture for fur. Nothing has been perfected yet, I think I need more crayons.

Hidden inside this tree was a tidy funnel web. Hidden in the funnel web was a hungry gray spider. She peeked out as we peeked in, curious but cautious. πŸ•·

Every morning I enjoy watching the sparrows in my backyard as they gather materials for their nests. It's one of my favorite signs of Spring! What do you look forward to each year?

Wriggling worms for lunch! I adopted this little box turtle on Monday, built her a new indoor habitat on Tuesday and today she is settling in. I'm excited to have her in the studio until it warms up enough for her to move outside. I've wanted a turtle for so long and she is just perfect. πŸ’•
