It had been nearly an hour since Sam had gone after Justin.
Sarah is currently unconscious on Ross' couch, her stomach now covered in bandages and tape.
The mini-operation to stop the bleeding had been successful. Now, Sarah is on a potentially lengthy road to recovery.
Ross admitted that had Justin stabbed Sarah just inches to the left of the original stab wound, he would have completely torn open her stomach lining, which would have resulted in certain death.
The fact that Sarah was going to live, never mind recover, was as Ross put it, 'nothing short of a miracle'.
Nevertheless, a part of me still feared that her recovery could still go horribly wrong.
"Jaime!" a voice calls from outside.
I turn my attention to the front door and after a few seconds, Tony steps inside.
"What is it, Tony?" I ask.
"There's a fleet of vehicles approaching the gate," he replies. "I think it's Rex."
I feel a sense of dread upon hearing this, realising that we may now have to deal with Rex without Sam.
"Oh God," I say under my breath as I look back at Sarah.
"What do you wanna do?" he asks.
"I'll meet you out there," I reply.
Tony nods then exits the house again, while I grab Sarah's hand and give it a squeeze.
"I'll be right back, sweetie," I say quietly as I kiss her hand. "I promise."
With that, I gently release her hand and proceed to head outside for another confrontation with Rex. - 2 minutes ago
