#21daysinmyartworld - Day 2 - “Lesson learned"
The messier, the more out of control, the more I don't know, the better. Play! Don't be attached to outcome.
Easier said than done, right??! On those days when I really am creating no-holds-barred, I always learn something, and sometimes even create something I really love - because I know it came out of me organically, not according to something I THINK I want to create. Creating from the heart, the body, not the head. These seem to be the times when I’m most likely to start off down a new path.
I’m in the middle of a year of creating art every day (mostly painting, some collage, some misc.). I see that there are ebbs and flows, days when I’m into it and have copious time and very creative, and days when one or more of those things isn’t true. This seems natural to me and I’m compassionate with myself, as long as I do SOMETHING - which has been easy to do, at least so far (I’m on day 157 - we’ll see how long I ride that it’s-not-hard wave!).h It’s good to do it every day. And it’s great when I step outside of the ruts that are always wanting to form and do something real and fresh and alive.
