A Gemini's Golden Birthday
•
24 rotations around the sun and here I am today. Grateful for the experiences I have encountered, the people I have befriended and the lessons I have learned. I have grown a lot in a year, especially since I took this photograph (stumbled across it digging through my archives, taken roughly 4 years ago?). I look forward to every new breath I take, every step I walk, every photograph I shoot and every mark of my pen/pencil/paintbrush. I enjoy reflecting on my past on my birthday to remind me how far I've come and how much further I continue to go. Thank you ❤️♊️✨

Pierced (male nipple) •
Found this old Polaroid in a cigar box under my bed. It was taken 2 years ago around the same time I graduated school. A photo taken of a photo printed on canvas with a sewing pin piercing it. Even though it's an old damaged thing, kinda chewed up, it still sparks something in me. A small moment, a fuck everything, be spontaneous. I haven't shot in a few weeks and I have film piling up (starting a new job, film development and scans aren't as accessible as they once were). I've been taking the time to draw, write and reflect. I'll be showing some new things soon. New projects, new ideas. Slowly making paths in this scattered Gemini mind ❤️

10.13.13.-A Self Portrait

Looking through an old hard drive, cringing while going through old work from Pratt and I find this image. The Fall of 2013 I was obsessed with this and I had no idea why (everyone that had to see it all the time I apologize). Now almost 4 years later, it resonates. This photograph was taken at a time when I first moved to Brooklyn and was simply overwhelmed and overstimulated by everything and everyone. I simply could not focus on being true to myself and my work. One weekend my friend and I drove up to the Catskills, set up the camera and took a box of film worth of shots. From scanning to editing to printing, I fell in love. I was lost in a haze within the city of concrete mountains but the Catskills revived me. This image is my personal little stepping stone and a reminder to not get lost in the daily haze of monotony. To be true to myself and my work. I have a camera in my bag and I'm ready to wake the fuck up and get back to my work. Lose that post grad haze. Mental Vomit ends here, have a lovely day ❤

The Hudson Valley: the place where I was born and constantly lives in my heart. Though the city is my home, I always myself daydreaming of going back up the river and secluding myself in a house in the woods with nothing but my camera, film, a sketchbook and some good music.
